Through much prayer and dedication, the House of Deliverance Church of God in Christ has not only grown but is thriving and indeed blessed of God! The history and growth of House of Deliverance Church of God in Christ is succinctly chronicled here through our pastoral leadership.

IN THE BEGINNING, the founders of the Holy Temple Church of God in Christ had the spirit of God move upon their hearts to begin worshiping God for themselves. They met in the homes of one another until they were able to perform services in a church.

CHURCH HISTORY

FOUNDER ANNIE ROBINSON/WILKERSON

House of Deliverance Church of God in Christ was organized under the leadership of Pastor Annie Robinson. After the church was fully organized, it was originally named Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in honor of her father the late Elder Roosevelt Robinson. In 1995, the first service was held at our present location at 206 Hickory Street, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Bishop John D. Young, Jurisdictional Prelate of Northwest Florida Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ would appoint her to the office Pastor.  Over the years the church would change its name to Pentecostal International Deliverance Ministries, and later to its current name House of Deliverance Church of God in Christ.

Under her leadership the church grew in membership, interior and exterior renovations were made, new furniture and carpet were purchased, the junior church and the Board of Trustees were organized, and additional deacons were ordained.

As Pastor Robinson’s health began to fail,  her son-in-law, Elder Antoine T. Brown came to assist her in November 2015. He would carry on the ministry preaching and teaching God’s word. While Pastor Wilkerson lay in the hospital she asked her son-in-law, Elder Brown, and his wife, Evangelist Lillian Brown to carry on the ministry.

Pastor Robinson served faithfully until her death in February 2016. After her death, the church was never without a shepherd Bishop Willie C. Green became the Pastor. In March 2016, House of Deliverance Church of God in Christ voted unanimously to elect Elder Antoine T. Brown as Pastor. Following the members' request, Bishop Willie C. Green appointed Elder Brown as Pastor of Operations. As Pastor Brown became the leader, the church began to grow phenomenally.

Pastor Brown installed new lighting in the sanctuary in May 2016 and replaced the aging sign with a new one in July 2016. Pastor Brown would often say, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is the day: the night cometh, when no man can work” from John 9:4. You will find him at the church doing just that.

Pastor Brown comes with a distinguished resume and his love of people and God’s word is well documented and displayed. House of Deliverance Church of God in Christ looks forward to growing with Pastor Brown and welcomes everyone to grow and fellowship with us.
